About
The Egyptian Event Center at the Ford Building is a newly renovated space in downtown Klamath Falls, Oregon that is highlighted (and named after) the nationally recognized Egyptian architecture that adorns both the interior and exterior of the building.
Built in the 1930’s and formerly known as the Balsiger Ford Building, the Egyptian Event Center at the Ford Building has taken on a new look with massive renovations in 2007. Already, events such as concerts, nationally known comedy shows, trade shows, weddings, dances, and more have called the Egyptian Event Center home.
The Ford Building
The Ford Building is the building which the Egyptian Event Center is a part of. In the 2007 winter the heavy snows that hit the Klamath Basin caused a portion of the Ford Building to collapse (the domed roof portion). The portion that fell due to snow is now under repair and has had no effect on the Egyptian Event Center structurally or from a safety standpoint.
Future plans for the Ford Building include retail store fronts, a larger convention center to hold groups of 1,000+, and offices. The Egyptian Event Center is part of a new revival of the Klamath Falls downtown area and is helping to push the revival on the east side of downtown.
